Located in one of the world’s most breathtaking bays, the Palacio de la Magdalena in Cantabria is a historic landmark that once served as a royal retreat. Today, it is home to a coastal mini zoo, where marine species such as penguins, seals, and sea lions reside in natural rock pools fed directly by the Cantabrian Sea.
As part of a public tender to enhance the seawater intake and circulation system, the City of Santander sought to optimise water renewal, improve sustainability, and increase operational efficiency. The project involved integrating two additional pumps alongside the existing system and designing a new recirculation network to ensure more effective and frequent water exchange.
